International School Bangkok
The International School Bangkok (ISB), founded in 1951, is an independent, coeducational, non-profit day school which offers an educational program for children ages 4-18 (PK-grade12). The school year comprises two semesters extending approximately from mid-August to early June and a summer program.

Organization: A 13-member Board of trustees is elected by parents or guardians of students enrolled in the School. The School encourages and benefits from active parent participation.

Curriculum: The curriculum is based on North American standards and international best practices. The IB diploma is offered in grades 11 and 12 along with Advanced Placement courses and exams. Instruction is in English and uses a child-centered approach. Students receive an education that prepares them to be the global leaders of tomorrow. Students also have extensive learning opportunities in the fine and performing arts, athletics, technology, and service learning. ISB is a testing center for SAT I & II, ACT, PSAT, ITBS, and other standardized tests. Approximately 98% of graduates attend university-level studies. There are programs for students with mild learning disabilities. The School is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and chartered by the Thailand Ministry of Education.

Faculty: In the 2005-2006 school year, there are 223 faculty members. All teachers at ISB are certified and average 18 years of experience. Most teachers are U.S. certified, and approximately 72% hold advanced degrees.

Enrollment: At the beginning of the 2005-2006 school year, enrollment was 1,874 (PK-grade 12).

Facilities: The 35-acre campus is located in a family-oriented community 14 miles from the center of Bangkok. The School offers state-of-the-art facilities for academics, athletics, fine and performing arts, and other programs to support quality educational opportunity.

Finances: In school year 2005-2006, the School’s income is derived from tuition. Annual tuition rates are as follows: Pre-K: $8,001; Kdg.-grade 5: $12,160; grades 6-8: $ 13,635; and grades 9-12: $14,161. The school also charges a registration fee of approximately $5,357. (All fees are quoted in US dollar equivalents of Thai Baht.)
